Generally with any acute sports injury, the management over the first 10 days will have a significant impact on your successful return to playing/sport/competition.

Ice and compression as soon as possible is a good start and if the pain or swelling is significant the next day its probably worth getting it looked at.

We would initially provide you with a comprehensive assessment, which will result in your full understanding of your injury as well as the likely period of time you will need to rest and recuperate/rehabilitate before you can safely return to training/playing

During this time physiotherapy management might include: manual therapy techniques, electrotherapy, strapping or immobilization, BUT most importantly ensure you know how best to manage your injury on a daily/nightly basis to ensure optimal healing in the fastest possible time.
